Active Directory authentication in MITS Discover allows users to login with the same username and password they use when logging into your company network.
To enable Active Directory Authentication, login to MITS Discover as an admin or an account with administrative rights. Goto the Admin tab and click on the section for Configure Active Directory Authentication.
Mark the checkbox to enable the feature and fill out the details so MTIS Discover knows where to find and how to communicate with the AD server.
Use the Test User Authentication button to bring up a dialog box where you can enter a username and password. MITS will test that against the Active Directory server and verify the connection is working.
If the test fails, check with your network admin to be sure you have the Active Directory information correct and that there is nothing else on the network (such as a firewall) that might be blocking your connection between the MITS server and the Active Directory server.
The usernames in MITS Discover must match the usernames used in Active Directory. The Rename Users tool within Manager Users allows you to bulk rename any users with usernames that don't match Active Directory.
Once you have the feature enabled, you can decide on a user by user basis you you want the to log in with Active Directory credentials or a username and password that is local to MITS Discover only.
On the General tab when modifying a users, will be a checkbox to enable the Active Directory requirement. To switch the user to using a local username and password, remove the mark from the checkbox. Doing so will also enable the ability to change the users' password.
